Post Secondary and Tertiary Education, State
Lifelong Learning has become an important development in our Education system. During these last twenty years, various long and short courses have been developed to enable those who have left formal education some time ago to continue developing their skills. This importance is also reinforced by the European Union where we have seen recently the structuring of non-formal and informal learning which slowly is being established in all EU countries through the EU Agenda for Adult Learning.
Lifelong learning enables persons to continue developing and upgrading their skills from both theoretical and practical perspectives whilst recognises the experience gathered by the individual along the years in a standard format.
Lifelong Learning takes various forms ranging from Short Courses, Vocational Qualfications to University Degrees. Both the State and the Private Sector offer wide choice of Courses for adults to have the possibility to learn, un-learn and re-learn..
