The report follows up on the results of ETF international conferences on ‘The Future of Work’ (ETF, 2018) and ‘Skills & Qualifications: benefits for people – how learning and guidance professionals make it happen’ (ETF, 2019). Both conferences highlighted that it is essential for both young people and adults to be empowered to meet the new labour-market challenges. Career guidance will remain a highly valid mechanism to support people’s transitions; however, it needs to adapt some of its delivery methods and to be faster and more effective in catering to the needs of individual learners and jobseekers in a quickly changing world.
